Those players will now be part of the side which competes at the NSW Mixed Ultimate Championships, being hosted by the Dubbo Ultimate Frisbee Federation on September 3 and 4.
The players selected were Ashleigh Boatman, Deb Stanbridge, Jen Hoar, Lauren Turrell, Nicole Harte, Alex Brouff, Dan Harte and Dan Lumby.
“I’m really excited for this years’ mixed rep squad,” DUFF president Tim Hosking said.
“Some excellent players put their hand up for selection, making the selection process challenging, particularly the men. The team selectors tried to find a balance between our more skilled experienced players, while trying to include some newer upcoming players and also achieve a spread of representatives from different inland NSW Ultimate Clubs.”
It means DUFF makes up half the squad, while the selection marks the first time that Lauren Turrell and Dan Harte have scored a guernsey.
“Our growth over the past few years in terms of the number of players and the overall standard of play is very welcomed, making DUFF the biggest Ultimate Club in inland NSW,” Hosking added.
“We look forward to seeing these players in action when they compete in Dubbo, which should be an excellent weekend of Ultimate and a bunch of extra sporting tourism dollars for our city.”
Locally, the spring mixed competition will begin in mid-September.
