The annual Kids for Kids will be held at Bob Dowling Oval on August 21, as part of Early Childhood Awareness Intervention Week.
To prepare, on August 9 a kite-making workshop will be held at Buninyong’s School as Community Centre.
The structure of about 600 kites will be built, which kids will then be able to decorate and tie the tails on.
Lorna Brennan said Kites for Kids was an event which helped raise awareness on the importance of early intervention for children with developmental issues.
“The motto of it is ‘the sky’s the limit’. If the kids get the right intervention early enough who knows what they can be?” she said.
Not only will the families be able to have fun, Ms Brennan said a range of service providers would be on hand.
“If you don’t need a service you don’t go looking for it, and you don’t know it’s there. This will let people know what’s out there in case they need it,” she said.
