Other providers getting funding are Lifeskills Plus and Mudgee Disability Support in Mudgee, and the Wellington Multi Service Centre in Wellington.
The $150,000 is coming from the state government’s $4 million Transition Assistance Program (TAP) aimed at helping providers in regional and remote communities prepare for the introduction of the NDIS.
Updating of business plans and buying new software are among the ways the program money will be spent.
State Member for Dubbo and Deputy Premier Troy Grant announced the funding for the Dubbo electorate.
“I’m pleased to see this level of investment in the Dubbo electorate for something as important as the roll out of the NDIS,” Mr Grant said.
“The NDIS is a once-in-a-generation reform that will transform the lives of people with disability, particularly those living in regional and remote NSW.
“To ensure the transition to the NDIS in regional NSW goes smoothly, the NSW government is investing even more to help disability service providers get NDIS-ready.”
NSW Minister for Disability Services John Ajaka said the TAP would ensure providers were ready for the change and help them plan for the future.
“Importantly, TAP will also support the growth of a vibrant and diverse disability services sector in all corners of NSW,” he said.
The TAP is being delivered in partnership with Aged and Community Services Australia.
Since 2011, the NSW government has invested more than $30 million in sector and workforce development to prepare for the NDIS.
More than 94 per cent of disability organisations funded by the NSW Department of Family and Community Services have accessed support through the Industry Development Fund.
Western NSW residents will be able to access the NDIS from July 1 next year.
