A bridge across the Bogan River on the Kamilaroi Highway has been named after a former Bourke Shire Council mayor, the late Wayne O’Mally.

Mr O’Mally was on the council for 13 years and mayor for almost nine of them.
He died in April 2012 in a plane crash on his property.
NSW Minister for Roads and Freight Duncan Gay and others attended a ceremony on Friday where the bridge’s new name was unveiled.
