Cold and breezy conditions greeted Dubbo Cycle Club members for round 10 of the Dubbo City Toyota Road Racing Series on the Benalong road course.

Scratch markers Mick Ticehurst (first), Tim Hines (second) and David Gerrish (third), all with a 28-minute handicap, worked tirelessly throughout the event to round up the 26-minutes, 13-minute and 0-minute groups to fill the podium placings.
Ticehurst covered the 34.2km handicap in 55 minutes 36.141 seconds at an average speed of 36.90km per hour. Craig May (+26 minutes), Sam Peacocke (+13 minutes), Sarah Gordon (+13 minutes), Mick Harvey (+26 minutes), Alex Russell (+26 minutes), Peter Graham (+13 minutes) and Craig Lennox (+26 minutes) finished fourth to tenth. Hines (240 points) now sits 36 points ahead of David Gerrish (204) on the overall points score standings, with Kurt Eather (204) in third, Chris Couper (178) in fourth and Craig May (170) in fifth.
On Saturday for the Bathurst Cycle Club’s annual Rockley Cup, Couper finished second against some tough Bathurst riders.
Nine of the Dubbo Cycle Club’s most talented junior riders travelled to Wagga for the Gwen French Memorial Junior Two Day Tour. Imogen and Makayla Fuller finished eighth and ninth in the general classification respectively in the under- 11 girls division while Brodie Wheeler (11th overall) and Zac Fuller (12th overall) were also competitive in the four stages of the under-13 boys division.
Kurt Eather (fifth overall in GC) finished third in the stage four individual time trial and narrowly missed podium placings in the three other stages, while Luke Ensor (10th overall) with his best result being fifth in the criterium.
Dylan Eather was the winner of the first stage of the under-15 men’s division however a crash in the third stage road race curtailed his campaign, though thankfully he did not sustain any serious injuries.
Danny Barber’s best result was sixth in the stage four individual time trial while Haylee Fuller was at her brilliant best again finishing third in the under-15 women’s general classification following podium placings in the stage one road race, stage three road race and stage four individual time trial.
Round 11 of the series continues next Saturday, with a 30km Handicap races on the Wongarbon course, while junior racing will take place on Sunday on the Sheraton Road course.
