The Bureau of Meteorology warned that cold temperatures, heavy rain and showers and strong westerly winds were expected during Friday and that there was a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
Central West Local Land Services said freshly shorn ewes, young lambs, heavily pregnant ewes and sheep in light condition are most at risk.
They advised graziers to move their sheep into protected areas, avoid shearing or animal husbandry activities, and avoid wet and boggy yards.
