About 5.45pm on Friday, a Toyota Kluger being driven by 49-year-old Karen Ramirez was travelling south on the Golden Highway at Sandy Hollow west of Denman, when the car left the roadway while negotiating a right hand bend.
The car collided with a large fence post before rolling and hitting a telegraph pole.
Ms Ramirez died at the scene. The four child passengers, including twin girls aged 15, another girl aged five, and a 12-year-old boy, were all taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
Police from Hunter Valley Local Area Command attended and conducted inquiries.

"Feeling really sad as one of the prettiest and best flowers have been taken out of the garden. Karen Ramirez you were an amazing lady and you will be missed by so many," one person wrote.
Another said: "Her little charges will have a lot top process in their young lives. My prayers go out to all of her family and greater circle of friends and work mates and class."
