THE FIRST round of Dubbo Cycle Club's new-year wheelrace series got under way on Tuesday evening, with Zac Fuller, Haylee Fuller and Jason Farr topping the podium in their respective divisions.

Zac Fuller took out the Dubbo Cycle Club Junior Wheelrace, with Louis Russell in second, Imogen Fuller in third, Makayla Fuller in fourth and Trent Hines in fifth, while Haylee Fuller upstaged her older rivals in taking out the Margaret Hazell Women's Wheelrace as Heather Ticehurst finished second, Catherine Fuller third, Helen Hines fourth and Lauren Fuller fifth.
Farr not only took out the Chris Turtle - Forum Financial Services Men's Wheelrace but was rewarded with the Bunning's Warehouse ride of the night for his efforts in doing so.
Farr worked tirelessly throughout the four lap event to narrowly claim victory over young gun Dylan Eather, with Tim Hines in third, Greg Willmot in fourth and Craig Granger in fifth
The D-grade events were won by Jason Canobie, who won the four lap scratch race, Lauren Fuller, who won the two lap handicap and Lachie Sinclair, who won the five lap scratch race.
Danny Barber won both the five and six lap C-grade scratch races, while Jeff Sargent crossed the line first in the C-grade two lap handicap.
An early race attack from Dylan Eather in the B-grade 10 lap scratch race forced his rivals to chase the young rider throughout the early laps of the event and he was able claim victory in a driving sprint finish, while Jason Farr won the two lap handicap and Sam Fitzgerald was the winner of the six lap scratch race.
Limit marker Tim Hines kicked clear to take out the A-grade two lap handicap and Adam Mitchell was the winner of the eight lap scratch race and Chris Couper took out the 20 lap scratch race the end the evening.
The junior division two events were taken out by Tyler Barnes (three lap scratch race and two lap handicap) and Tyrone Smyth (two lap scratch race), while Isabelle Russell (two lap handicap) and Brodie Wheeler (three lap scratch race and six lap scratch race) were the winners of the three junior division one events.
Emily Hines (two lap scratch race), Georgia Farr (both handicap events) and Tom Williamson (one lap scratch race) were the victors in the junior development division.
Super tots and tiny tots riders Aikie Wrigley, Mackenzie Murphy, Jasmine Fuller, Jarryd Fuller, Elise Berryman, Hamish Murphy an Alexis Smyth continue to improve and show great skill.
Track cycling continues next Tuesday evening from 6.30pm, with training conducted on Thursday evenings and the ever-popular 100-lap motor paced endurance training on Wednesday nights.
Meanwhile, entries have closed for the Dubbo Track Open and NSW U9-13 State Championships, which will be held at Victoria Park No.1 Oval on Saturday and Sunday February 13 and 14.
Strong numbers have been received for the NSW U9-13 sprint derby, time trial and scratch race championships as well as very strong numbers in the senior track open, which is highlighted by the Cliff Hazel Memorial Wheelrace.
