The line-up for the much anticipated electronic music event was released on Tuesday, with the hip-hop legend and Australian festival circuit staple heading back to Dubbo for the show at Police Paddock Reserve on Saturday, April 9.
Sentry wowed Dubbo crowds in 2015 when he played for one night only at the Dubbo RSL Memorial Club, during his high-octane Strange New Past tour.
The three-month, 47-show tour of regional Australia brought Sorrento-born Sentry back to his small-town roots, and the ARIA award-winner will make a return to Dubbo for Roar.
Also on the ticket are Australia's number one trance DJ MaRLo and energetic Adelaide emcee Tkay Maidza. Global sensation Hayden James will also wow fans with his soulful and evocative summer house jams.
From a submission to Dubbo City Council's ignite Dubbo campaign just 12 months ago, the festival has taken on a life of its own and will see up to 10,000 people flock around two stages in its first year.
Roar public officer Brett Anderson said the team had received terrific community support to bring the event to Dubbo.
"It has been really hard work to get to this stage but we are grateful for the amazing line-up we have secured," Mr Anderson said.
"All our feedback has been extremely positive and... the DJ comp we are running, Raw to Roar has added a lot of extra interest.
"We are very, very excited to have such a unique and popular star-studded line-up secured to play at the first festival. This is going to be heaps of fun which is great."
Dubbo's own Ryan Harper (DJ Harpoon) and Risque have snagged spots in the line-up, and Mr Harper said the announcement was unexpected.
"It's great, because it's good to get out there and play with the big names and get myself out there," he said.
"To play out there in front of a home crowd - it's going to be huge."
He is keen to play alongside Perth-based duo Slumberjack, who he says always put on a great show.
Mr Harper said it would be a great opportunity to play to a different crowd, and thanked Dubbo pub and house party crowds for their support.
"It's a bit different. At the festival I can play the music that I like and if they [crowds] like it they'll go crazy," he said.
"They have been supporting me, just doing house parties I've got a lot of fans and they sort of put me over the line to get the gig.
"Without them I probably wouldn't have it."
