DUBBO may have lost their Division One match but the club still made a successful start to the 2016 Central West Golf Association pennants competition.
Dubbo travelled to Orange's Country Club for the first round of the tournament on Sunday and recorded wins in three of the four divisions on offer.
The one loss for the day came in the premier Division One, with Mudgee scoring a comfortable 4-1 win in the Pool A matchup.
Matt Woodbridge was beaten 1up, while Matt Burton (4 and 3), Nick Coggan (3 and 2) and Ross Horrocks (6 and 4) all went down.
Chris Schubert saved a bit of face for Dubbo as he recorded a 1up win over Andrew Best.
Dubbo took on local rivals Wellington in Divisions Two, Three and Four and all three ended in convincing 4-1 victories for the Dubbo teams.
It was the perfect start for the Dubbo teams, with all three aiming to defend the titles they won in 2015
Jim McDonald was the only player to lose in Division Two as Mitch Davison (2 and 1), Aaron Etcell (3 ans 1), Alex Haylock (1up) and Al Horrocks (3 and 2) all impressed.
Things were just as one-sided in Division Three, with Ian Smyth (7 and 5), Mick Dunn (1up), Cameron Liddell (4 and 3) and Peter Ipkendanz (forfeit) all claiming wins.
Noah Gooch was the only one to go down.
It was the same story in Division Four for Dubbo.
Warrick Wheeler (3 and 2), Max Keating (3 and 2), Andy Single (4 and 2) and Grahame Marchant (5 and 4) all proved far too strong for their Wellington counterparts.
Wayne Henry almost made it a clean sweep for Dubbo but lost on the 19th in his duel with Rod Irwin.
In the other division one match-ups Duntryleague defeated Wentworth (4-1) in Pool A, while Bathurst trumped Cowra (4-1) and Forbes beat Parkes (3-2) in Pool B at Wentworth.
In division two, Mudgee defeated Duntryleague (4-1) in Pool A, while Forbes beat Blayney (4-1), Parkes thumped Bathurst (5-nil) and Cowra trumped Wentworth (3-2) in pool B.
Division three action saw Mudgee trump Duntryleague (3-2) in Pool A, while Parkes beat Forbes (3-2) and Bathurst overcame Cowra (4-1) in Pool B.
In division four Mudgee thumped Duntryleague (4-1) in pool A, while Wentworth beat Cowra (4-1) and Bathurst bettered Parkes (3-2) in Pool B.
