Works services manager Ian Bailey said the closure was to enable preliminary construction works in preparation for Wheelers Lane to be widened to two lanes through the rail crossing later this year. Stormwater culvert installation and rail track work would be completed during this closure.
"Workers will be on site from 7am to 8pm for each day of the closure," Mr Bailey said.
"An extensive Traffic Management Plan, including detours via Douglas Mawson Drive and Birch Avenue will be in place to guide traffic safely around the worksite. Access to all businesses will be maintained during this road closure.
"Should you require assistance during the works, please speak to staff on site as they are willing to help where possible.
"Further information regarding the widening of Wheelers Lane at the rail crossing and associated rail works will be provided in due course, once construction timeframes have been confirmed," he said.
