Footage time stamped in the early hours of November 19 viewed at the Daily Liberal showed a male in a cap trying to gain access to a ute parked in a driveway before he was joined by two others who shone a torch on the vehicle.
"They were trying to get a fridge on the ute, but they couldn't," the man said.
"At this point, the dog's gone mad and I've opened the door and disturbed them and they've taken off."
The resident, who did not wish to be identified, said three more youths were captured on footage coming back to try to access the vehicles a bit later.
The man said what had made him most angry was the theft of more than $1000 worth of his son's work tools from a vehicle parked in the driveway on October 30.
"You've got someone here who's trying to make their way in life, trying to make a go of it in an honest way, and these dirty mongrels knock their gear off," he said.
"So we've gone to the expense of fortifying our house, we've done everything we can and it's hard to sleep when you're living in fear that this is going to happen again and again.
"But these scumbags just don't care - they've no regard for other people's property."
The man estimated his home had been the victim of some 15 similar incidents in the past 15 years.
"That includes four tyres being slashed," he said.
The man has urged residents to be vigilant and to report people acting suspiciously around vehicles, particularly at night, to police.
Inspector Scott Tanner from Orana Local Area Command said police were investigating the incidents.
"Those responsible should not be surprised to get a knock on their door," he said.
