Last season the Dubbo and District Cricket Association opted to make the Brewery Shield team a side filled with a number of exciting up-and-comers alongside a couple of old heads.
CYMS' Matt Ellis is one of those more experienced players and he will again captain the side.
Sunday's match, played at No.2 Oval, sees Dubbo open their season as they so often do, against Narromine.
Last season Dubbo travelled to Cale Oval and won despite Jordan Moran blasting a century for the home side but with this match played at Dubbo and with Moran on Western Zone duty it was a vastly different fixture.
Ellis and his side will be keen to open with a win as they look to go one better than last season when they lost the decider to a Keiran Brien-inspired Wellington.
The majority of last season's side returns with the bowling attack again looking imposing.
Despite Angus Cusack being unavailable, the likes of Sean Mason, Blake Watmore and Tyler Woodrow will provide the pace.
Brandan Dodd has had a taste of Whitney Cup already this season and he and Nick Karydis are also handy bowlers while Tom Barber will provide the spin option.
The match will also be a big one for Pat Berryman with the Rugby youngster named as vice-captain for the 2015-16 campaign.
As well as the extra responsibility, Berryman will be a key figure with the bat alongside Dan French, Michael Ying Sing and the captain.
French is a Whitney Cup veteran despite only being 21 years of age and alongside Ellis provides the bulk of the experience in the side and will be expected to play a big role with the bat and also behind the stumps.
Narromine are always a bit of an unknown but captain Kale Bock will lead the way with the bat.
The match starts from 10am at No.2 Oval.
