Three new faces have been appointed to the leadership of the NSW ALC: Cr Charles Lynch, Northern (Nungaroo); Cr William Murray, Western (Wilcannia), and; Cr Danny Chapman, South Coast (Mogo).
The remaining six councillors all retained their seats: Cr Stephen Ryan, Central (Dubbo Local Aboriginal Land Council); Cr Craig Cromelin, Wiradjuri (Murrin Bridge); Cr Peter Smith, Mid-North Coast (Purfleet-Taree); Cr Tina Williams, North Coast (Ngulingah); Cr Anne Dennis, North-Western (Walgett), and; Cr Roy Ah-See, Sydney/Newcastle (Darkinjung).
NSWALC chief executive officer Lesley Turner said elected councillors would be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the land council and making decisions on a range of important issues affecting Aboriginal people in NSW.
Mr Turner said the new council would convene its first formal meeting on Wednesday, November 18.
The new council will elect a chairman and deputy chairman to lead NSWALC.
