More than 120 students were involved across the region. What a great day for all students and accompanying teachers.
A total of eight schools have been involved during the year; Trundle, Tottenham, Tullamore, Yeoval, Peak Hill, Gilgandra, Dubbo College South Campus and Dubbo South Public School.
It has been a great opportunity for all the children to upskill musically as well as form friendships across the area.
Talented tutors in their musical disciplines have been utilised throughout the program. The program will definitely continue in 2016 and it has been such a resounding success.
Following is a few reports from the students involved:
"Last Thursday I played in the African drumming group. We started off with a simple beat and then by the end of the day we learnt how to play and sing We Will Rock You. We did a rain piece where we played the sound of raindrops, wind, thunder a lightening.
"It was a great experience to learn how to play the African drums and I would love to do it again."

"This is the second time I have been to the combined music day. I played the violin in a group of 13 students.
"We practised Viva Italia and then played it for the concert. Allison Williams came to help teach the students with my Mum Ai-Vee Chua and Mr Lee from Trangie.
"I really like doing the workshops and the best part is seeing friends from other schools."

"I played with Blayne Jaggard-Kerr in the advanced guitar group last Thursday with four other boys from Dubbo College South Campus.
"We played Good Riddance by Greenday. We did not have any music, so we played all the parts by ear. We had five acoustic guitars and one bass. I enjoyed the day and learned lots of new chords."

"On Thursday we split into sectionals and practised our part before coming to rehearse together.
"I played the flute and other instruments included drums, trombone, clarinet, trumpet, tuba, percussion instruments, saxophone and an oboe.

"We had a fun day. We learnt new pieces and met lots of new people on the day."
