POLICE have charged a man after he was allegedly found in possession of firearms in Dubbo on Monday.

About 4pm officers from Orana Local Area Command searched a home in East Dubbo where they allegedly located five firearms including a shortened shot-gun, two pump-action firearms and two high-powered rifles.
Officers also allegedly found ammunition and a NSW Police shirt.
Following the search police attended an address in Dubbo where they arrested a 33-year-old man.
He was taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with contravene AVO, three counts of possess unauthorised prohibited weapon, two counts of possess unauthorised firearm, possess ammunition without licence and unauthorised possession of firearms in aggravated circumstances.
He was refused bail and will appear in Dubbo Local Court on Tuesday.
