As part of the program, 1800 students from 21 schools across the Central West learnt more about the V8 Supercars and one of the biggest sports events staged in NSW.
Students saw practical applications of maths, physical education, tourism, marketing, event management, media studies, first-aid and engineering all at one unique site.
Nine-year-old Jemmia Luck, from Bathurst Public School, was one of the students enjoying yesterday’s program.
She said she was having fun, but couldn’t believe how loud the cars were.
“I loved watching the cars go round [the track]. I’m going for Holden, because my uncle goes for Holden,” she said.
“And my favourite drivers are [Jamie] Whincup and Craig Lowndes.”
Ten-year-old Aislinn McBurney, also from Bathurst Public, said she had “a great day”.
“We had a look in the garages and we also saw this yellow police car [the McLaren 650S],” she said.
