Primary school students were introduced to Winny, the two-metre tall dinosaur, and participated in a range of science-themed workshops with the goal of encouraging the next generation of scientists, researchers and science enthusiasts.
Dubbo Public School student Ashley Steele became a fingerprint expert at the CSI World Workshop.
"We're investigating a crime scene. We have to find fingerprints and shoe prints and fibres," she said. "We find a fingerprint and then we have to put it in a special box and then they (the instructors) will find a match."
Lead investigator Phoenix Aubusson-Foley was in charge of keeping everyone in line.
"And at the end I get to eat all the donuts," he said.
Today, the secondary students will have their turn to solve crimes, learn the difference between Centrifugal and Centripetal forces and make smoothies with the energy from riding a bike.
