The Higher School Certificate (HSC) exams get under way on Monday, and Dubbo Christian School year 12 student Laughlan Skinner acknowledged he was feeling the pressure, but was looking forward to getting the exams started.
"I am a bit stressed at the moment, English isn't my strong suit as I'm more into maths but maybe it is a good thing to get it out of the way," he said.
"In between study I've been exercising, talking with friends and playing the Xbox to have some downtime.
"My exams are over in three weeks which means I finish a week before everyone else which is great."
Laughlan has attended Dubbo Christian School for the four years he has lived at Dubbo, having moved here from Strathalbyn in South Australia, having prior to that lived at Broken Hill and Bourke.
After attending a study camp during the holidays, Laughlan felt it may have given him an advantage heading into the exams.
"The camp was held in Wollongong and helped myself and others study together and give each other helpful hints and tips," he said. "I learnt a few new things and I was able to help some other people and they were able to help me."
Laughlan is contemplating several things for himself post school, however for now he is just concentrating on getting the best result possible from the exams.
