The PCYC Walgett is a unique club structure located in the grounds of the Walgett Community College.
General Hurley will officially open the club on Monday afternoon.
Community and state leaders will also attend, including Commissioner Andrew Scipione, Commissioner of Police, NSW Police Force and Deputy Commissioner Nick Kaldas, Deputy Premier of NSW and Minister for Justice and Police Troy Grant, Mayor of Walgett Cr David Lane, Secretary of the NSW Department of Education Michele Bruniges and PCYC NSW CEO Darren Black.
PCYC NSW western regional general manager Nathan Brennan said, within the community of Walgett, the PCYC would serve more than 200 students.
"However, we will also work within the Walgett Shire and the police local area command with communities that include Lightning Ridge, Collarenebri and Goodooga," he said.
"After school, evenings and weekends have been an identified gap in activities for Walgett young people and the PCYC can potentially fill with a "drop in" youth hang out.
"We offer drop offs to young people living at aboriginal reserves at Gingie and Namoi and sporting competitions such as touch footy, basketball, volleyball, table tennis."
In addition to dedicated civilian staff, and as is the case with every other PCYC club, two police youth case managers from the police youth command will also work at PCYC Walgett.
