Firstly, it was the first league tag grand final played in Group 11, and secondly it was the first piece of silverware won by the Westside club since 1985.
After leaving Group 11 in 2000 the Rabbitohs rebounded in 2014, and the newly created Newtown Jets League Tag trophy took pride of place at Dubbo Sporties on Sunday night.
Multi-sport star Tarlee Roberts scored two tries for Westside, one via an intercept and the other courtesy of a slashing piece of play in which she put boot to ball four times.
Those tries complemented the four-pointers scored by Sabrina Fernando, Kaitlyn Mason and Maddy Towney.
The win capped an unbeaten season for the Bunnies, whose coach Col Fuller was full of admiration for his players.
"This is great for our club and for the girls as well," said Fuller, who doubles as the club's president.
"These girls turn up Tuesday and Thursday night all year round, through the cold weather and they deserve it.
"They haven't lost a game all year but credit to Parkes. They pushed us a couple of weeks ago and they were good again today. The score probably wasn't a reflection of the game."
A try to Sabrina Fernando in the second minute opened the scoring but they were the only points of what was an error-riddled opening half.
Kaitlyn Mason, who looked dangerous all game, scored a great solo try early in the second stanza, and from that point on it was all Westside.
Roberts bagged two tries in a six-minute spell to push the score out to 18-0 before Maddy Towney rounded out the scoring when she crossed four minutes before full-time.
"Westside were just two good. They've been good all year and they were again today," Parkes captain-coach Hannah Kelly said.
"But our girls have done a great job to be here. We were fifth with one round to go before finals and we made it to the grand final.
"We have a good bunch of girls and hopefully we can come back better next year."
