THE testing North Geurie course, coupled with high winds, splintered the small group of riders that took part in Dubbo Cycle Club's senior road racing on Saturday, with scratch-marker Tim Hines out riding his handicap to win the 26.6-kilometre event.
The small field of riders combined with the rolling course, which is known for its tough climb in the initial kilometres, ensured no rider was able to be sheltered from the blustery conditions.
Hines' (+19 minutes) covered the course at an average speed of 35km/h and finished ahead of rising star Haylee Fuller (+12 minutes 30 seconds) in second with Jason Canobie (+0 minutes) in third.
Catherine Fuller (+14 minutes) was the fourth rider across the line ahead of Ann Clark (+6 minutes) in fifth, while Lachlan Clark (+7 minutes 30 seconds), Brodie Wheeler (+5 minutes), Zara Fuller (+4 minutes) and Craig Granger (+16 minutes) rounded out the field of nine riders.
Hines' victory and second placing to Haylee Fuller has resulted in a major reshuffle in the overall points score standings, with Haylee Fuller now in first placing on 376 points ahead of Darrell Wheeler in second (360 points) and Lachlan Clark in third (352 points).

Seven Dubbo Cycle Club riders were entered in the annual Cootamundra Classic 106km Handicap on Saturday - a race that has been won by Dubbo riders on at least three occasions.
Defending winner, Adam Mitchell (+35 minutes) and two-time winner Darrell Wheeler (limit group) were joined in the grueling event by Michael Ticehurst (+23 minutes), Chris Couper (+23 minutes), David Gerrish (+19 minutes), Max Newton (+7 minutes) and Heather Ticehurst (limit group).
Wagga Cycle Classic winner Troy Herfoss (Goulburn CC) won the event, which failed to attract its usual large field due to a scheduling clash with the National Road Series Sam Miranda Tour of the King Valley.
Gerrish (+8 minutes), Mitchell (+20 minutes), Heather Ticehurst (limit group) and Michael Ticehurst (+8 minutes) also rode in Sunday's 69km Cootamundra Recovery Handicap, which was won by 16- year-old New Zealand rider, Robert Stannard.
