The victim sustained injuries including burn marks and pin pricks to her arm during an alleged series of attacks across two days before she fled her Nyngan home in the middle of the night and went to police.
Her 29-year-old partner was arrested on Friday and charged with six offences including possessing a prohibited weapon, using a prohibited weapon, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and intimidation.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges in Dubbo Local Court where he was also refused bail on Monday.
Documents tendered to the court by the prosecution detail the allegations magistrate Claire Girotto said were "extremely serious".
On Wednesday morning last week the victim was at home with the accused and a child, the documents show.
Police will allege the man, after questioning the woman about who she had gone out with last year, stuck a sewing needle into the victim's arm and hand several times, saying "I'm going to make you look like a junkie".
The man is accused of spraying pepper spray at the victim's face after she tried to leave the premises later that afternoon, leaving her unable to open her eyes for a time due to the pain, the documents show.
The alleged domestic violence continued the next day.
The man is accused of forcing the woman's palm on to a heated hotplate, the documents show.
The 29-year-old then allegedly tied the victim's hand to a chair and put a cloth in her mouth, taping it to hold it in place.
The man is alleged to have held a knife to the glowing hotplate then pressed it on to the woman's arm, repeating the process at least six times.
The victim untied herself with her free arm, and tried to run outside but the accused allegedly took hold of her hair and pulled her back inside the house, forced her on the ground and sat on her.
In court the defence conceded the allegations were serious but said the man was challenging them.
The man had not come before the court on matters of violence previously, the solicitor said.
A number of bail conditions were proposed, there was an apprehended violence order in place and the solicitor said the man was willing to comply with any conditions required by the court.
The police prosecutor said bail was strongly opposed due to the unacceptable risks of endangering the victim and submitted the risk could not be overcome by any conditions proposed.
There was a history of escalating violence and the alleged offences last week had all occurred in the presence of a child, the prosecutor said.
It was a strong prosecution case, the sergeant said.
Ms Girotto said that if convicted a custodial sentence was highly likely and while there was no history of failing to appear the allegations were very serious.
"I find there is an unacceptable risk of endangerment to the victim," she said.
"(There are allegations of) a prolonged series of attacks on her during the day... motivated by intense feelings of jealousy or mistrust," she said.
The magistrate said she was not satisfied the conditions would mitigate the risks and she refused the man bail.
The charges were adjourned for mention in Nyngan Local Court on July 29.
