Hundreds of children and their parents filled the seats and floor of the auditorium, cheering loudly when the five band members, Lah-Lah, Buzz, Tom Tom, Mr Saxophone and Squeezy Sneezy, opened the show.
Unlike other popular children's entertainment groups, cast member Tina Harris, Lah-Lah, said the group's angle to stand out in the industry fell back on their ability to incorporate their instruments into their performance, exposing their audiences to a catchy jazzy sound.
Having been together for six years, Harris said the group's success had allowed them to tour to more regional locations instead of just hitting the metropolitan areas.
"It's all really exploded since we filmed our television series which aired on ABC Kids this year," she said.
The group were hoping to break into the international children's entertainment industry when the tour wrapped up, with a second series of filming for Lah-Lah's Adventures.
Harris there was a fine distinction between performing for children and adults.
"There's a certain energy that just gets everyone going," she said.
"You can tell exactly what a child is getting from your performance just by looking at their face."
Although the room was filled with excited children, there was one face Harris said she would be looking for in the crowd.
Harris' mother and Dubbo resident, Cassie Carrington, was said to be her daughter's number one fan. "She's been pushing for us to come to Dubbo for a while - I think she's even wearing a Lah-Lah's Adventures t-shirt."
