All of the races and fields remain the same, although stewards will have to ballot runners out of some 1200m events if there is not sufficient scratchings, as the maximum field sizes vary between the two tracks.
Central West chief steward Todd Smith did a tour of both the Nyngan and Coonamble tracks on Friday afternoon and said the Coonamble track was quite rain-affected.
"It's probably a bit wetter out here than I thought it would be," Smith said.
"They've probably had about an inch of rain and it hasn't really soaked through as yet so we've opted to move the meeting to Dubbo."
One person boosted by that news is Dubbo trainer Justin Stanley who now does not have to travel with his noted mudlark The Brown One in the $20,000 Coonamble Cannonball (1100m).
The feature sprint has drawn together a handy field of speedsters, but Stanley will go into the race confident as the track conditions will suit his mare and she will carry under the minimum after the claim for apprentice James Innes jnr.
The Brown One has won seven races from 32 starts, with six of those wins coming on rain-affected surfaces.
"She does like a bit of give in the track so I was pretty happy when I heard the rain was falling out that way during the week," Stanley said.
"I think this horse will get conditions to suit, but in saying that it has probably turned out to be a bit stronger race than I thought it was going to be."
Clint Lundholm's gelding Knot Out and Mary Moses' consistent performer Eanie Meanie sit at the top of the weights, but they will not get things all their own way with the likes of The Brown One and Brett Thompson's in-form gelding Budgee Boy in the races.
Budgee Boy won at Gunnedah earlier in the week and has finished no worse than fourth at his past 10 starts, while The Brown One has hit form after three ordinary runs to start her preparation.
"Winning that race at Bathurst on Anzac Day probably gave her a bit of confidence, and after that she went to Parkes where the track was rock hard and it didn't suit her but she didn't run too bad.
"Last time at Wellington she finished second and it was a good run, and I think the fact the track will be wet will help her because she goes up in grade a little bit on what she has been meeting."
