Officers are investigating the incidents which took place around Narromine in the early hours of Monday morning.
Inspector Dan Skelly from Orana Local Area Command said six properties and a vehicle were broken into and a vehicle was stolen.
"At one address, firearms were taken but later recovered by police in the stolen car," Inspector Skelly said.
"A firearm stolen from a car remains outstanding, and police are investigating this matter."
In a separate incident, police were investigating thefts from a motor vehicle and a motorcycle parked in motel car parks in Gilgandra in the early hours of Monday morning.
"We would also like to warn people to ensure they do not store valuables in their motor vehicles and that they lock their vehicles and premises when they leave."
