The three dogs were scanned and officer found one was not microchipped and none of them was registered.
The owner was issued with infringement notices for having unregistered dogs, each worth $275, and several traffic infringements were also issued.
Castlereagh Local Area Command Inspector Rodney Shoesmith said over the past few weeks officers had targeted known vehicles and people suspected of rural crime-related activity in the LAC.
"This is yet another example of the good work rural crime investigators are doing across the area in proactively targeting those suspected of rural crime activity," he said.
"It is a primary focus definitely in this command and it should be a deterrent to those who want to engage in illegal hunting.
"We are encouraging anyone in the community, particularly those in the rural community, to continue to report suspicious activity or crimes to assist police in targeting these types of offences and those who commit them."
