The man was aged 28 at the time of the offences alleged to have occurred in 2008.
The Dubbo teen allegedly became pregnant as a result of the relationship which continued for a number of weeks when the pair travelled together with the carnivals to Queensland.
The man has been charged with two counts of having sexual intercourse with a person aged 14 years or over and under 16 years at Dubbo.
If convicted he could spend 10 years in jail.
A release application was made on the man's behalf in Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday, three months after he was extradited from Victoria to face the charges.
The Crown did not oppose the move and the man was granted conditional bail.
Documents tendered to the court by the prosecution reveal the nature of the allegations against the man, now aged 35.
Detectives were told the girl and her workmate were on a break during their shift at work at Dubbo in April 2008 when they began to talk to two men unknown to them, one of whom was the accused.
It will be alleged the next day the accused gave the victim a piece of paper with his name and phone number on it when he attended her work as a customer.
The victim started to text the accused and they would meet each other and spend time together, police were later told.
It will be alleged the accused asked the victim in a text message her age and she told him she was 14 and she asked how old he was.
He allegedly told her he was 21.
About two weeks later the victim left her family home in Dubbo and started to stay with the accused in a caravan at the Dubbo showground, police were later told.
The man is alleged to have committed the offences at this time.
Detectives were told the pair travelled with the carnival to Goondiwindi where they set up rides and remained there for a week before travelling to different locations in Queensland.
The girl returned to her family, first at Dubbo and then Orange, but then left again with the man, who arrived during the night, and returned to Queensland and the carnivals.
In June 2008 the accused started to become jealous and violent towards the victim, the documents alleged. Continued page 2
She saw police at one of the carnivals and spoke to them, at which time it was ascertained the victim was a missing person.
Arrangements were made and the victim's family took her back to Orange.
There the victim was found to be pregnant and underwent a termination in July.
At the same time the matter was forwarded to a child protection team for further investigation.
The man's location was unknown and a warrant was issued for his arrest in 2008.
Child Abuse Squad detectives travelled to Victoria in February this year to extradite him to Sydney, where he was charged by virtue of the warrant for the two charges.
On Wednesday magistrate Claire Girotto ordered the balance of the brief of evidence to be served by June 17 and adjourned the matter until July 8.
The accused will be excused from appearing that day if legally represented.
The conditions of his bail include that he is not to contact or approach the complainant or any Crown witness or any person in a domestic relationship with the complainant.
The court has also ordered that he reside at an address in Newcastle and report three times a week to police.
