CLUB Dubbo hosted the 23rd West Dubbo Women's Classic Pairs last Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with a full field of 42 teams competing for $5500 in prizemoney.

The carnival saw competitors coming from all across the state, including teams from North Haven, Merrylands, West Wyalong, Matraville, Canowindra, Kurri Kurri, Gulgong, Parkes, Randwick, Blacktown, Cabramatta, Rosehill South Tamworth, Blayney, Cowra and Molong.
Local teams from West Dubbo, Railway and Dubbo City were also in action.
It was an extremely competitive weekend, and after five rounds there was only one team unbeaten, while there were eight teams with four wins.
The final results of the carnival were: 1st Tanya Ware and Shirley Austin (Kurri Kurri) 5 wins plus 72 shots; 2nd Kay Altmier and Ruth Shanks (Dubbo Railway) 4 wins plus 48 shots; 3rd Dale Richards and Sue Clark (West Dubbo); 4th Jill Young and Margaret Simpson (Rosehill) 4 wins plus 30 shots; 5th Kerry Farrell and Say Lee Jones (Merrylands) 4 wins plus 27 shots; 6th Debbie Buckley and Nicki Henry (Gulgong) 4 wins plus 24 shots; 7th Ann Wilkins and Gail Sheehan (Kurri Kurri) 4 wins plus 24 shots; 8th Leanne Patterson and Noreen Sneddon (Merrylands) 4 wins plus 14 shots.
Tournament director Anthony Brown would like to thank all the ladies from the West Dubbo women's committee for their assistance over the weekend. The popularity of this tournament is one of the best in the state, with all the teams indicating they will be back in 2016.
