The Raiders were fired up at the start of the match and were arguably the better side for the first half hour but the defending premiers soon found their groove and went on to record a seven-tries to two victory.
With five players backing up from Saturday's Western Rams cluster day it was not easy for the Fishies and that task was made even harder when five-eighth Colby Pellow left the field early in the match after being hit high by Claude Gordon, who was subsequently put on report.
"Macquarie came out the first 20 and really stuck it to us and I thought we handled that OK and it was good to watch," CYMS coach Tim Ryan said after the match.
"We got on top and that showed late in the game."
Ill discipline was a problem for Macquarie throughout the match with Gordon and Rowan Orcher both spending time in the bin before Gordon was sent from the field inside the final 30 seconds.
Raiders coach Guy Meredith was delighted with the way his side started the match but was left bitterly disappointed as his team was overrun by the clinical CYMS team.
"Thirty minutes was good, the boys came out really well and it was like a real local derby, CYMS and Macquarie, and that's what it's all about but football is longer than 30 minutes and they were the better team in the end," he said.
Macquarie began the better but still had no points to show for it despite Jeremy Smith being held up in goal while CYMS had a Ben Marlin try disallowed for a forward pass. The Raiders eventually grabbed a deserved four-pointer with Mason Williams collecting a ball from a scrum, slicing through and running 60m to open the scoring.
Former Fishie Corey Cox's conversion was waved away and the Raiders fell behind almost immediately as Matt Naden put Billy Sing across for his first four-pointer.
The try of the day followed as John Grey leapt above the Raiders defence to collect his own kick before finding fellow Western representative Jyie Chapman in support to help make the score 12-4.
An Alex Bonham grubber led to a try for Alex Ronayne and at the break the Fishies had established an 18-4 lead.
Things didn't begin well for Macquarie after the break as Keiran Shipp scored for CYMS and Gordon was sent for 10 but they soon got back on the scoresheet through a second try for Williams.
That was as good as it got for a tiring Macquarie as tries to the impressive Jarryn Powyer, Marlin and a second for Billy Sing sealed the 30-point win.
"We got tired," Meredith said after the match.
"We were ill disciplined and were heavily penalised in the first half and we hung in but it caught us out at the end, we ran out of petrol.
"I think the penalty count was 7-0 at one stage and that hurts, we've got to work on the discipline."
The win keeps alive CYMS' undefeated start for the season while the Raiders still have just the one win to their name in 2015.
