Mr Llorens, who has been the Principal Officer at the US Consulate General in Sydney since October 3, 2013, believes the diversity on offer at Dubbo would make it advantageous for American businesses for investment.
“I see a lot of potential in Dubbo and this area,” Mr Llorens said.
“US companies invest across a lot of different industries and they could be interested in this area as it has such a diverse economy.
“With the Western Plains Zoo and great restaurants obviously tourism is a big attraction and being a strong agricultural area there is potential for investors from different industries.
“Being a hub for other areas around that are more isolated really makes Dubbo an attractive place.”
Mr Llorens spent his first trip to Dubbo at the Western Plains Zoo, lunched with Deputy Premier Troy Grant and visited Charles Sturt University, taking the opportunity to speak to a number of students.
“It has been a fantastic day and I have really enjoyed meeting as many people as possible and seeing as much as possible,” Mr Llorens said.
“It was great to meet the Aboriginal students and see the work that they are doing.
“The fact they will be giving back to their communities is fantastic and great to see.”
