The Electoral Commission NSW is projecting a total of 11,500 pre-poll votes will be cast at Dubbo in the two weeks before the state election this Saturday, March 28.
In the two weeks of pre-polling before the 2011 state election, only 6349 people took advantage of the early voting option.
Friday, March 20, was the busiest day of the first week of pre-polling at Dubbo for the 2015 state election with 630 people voting between 8am and 6pm.
The second-busiest day was Saturday, March 21, when 550 people pre-polled.
A total of 3021 voters pre-polled at Dubbo last week, compared to 1845 in the corresponding period leading up to the 2011 election.
The 2015 figure includes 391 votes cast on Monday, 505 on Tuesday, 449 on Wednesday and 496 on Thursday.
Votes cast from Monday to Saturday of the first week of pre-polling in 2011 numbered 254, 265, 302, 351, 392 and 281, respectively.
The second week of pre-polling at Dubbo for this year's election got off to a hectic start with the total 4504 votes counted in the same period in 2011 set to be eclipsed.
Friday was the busiest day of the second week of pre-polling in 2011 with 1250 people voting.
With 3021 votes secured last week, the commission's projection for pre-polling at Dubbo in 2015 relies on almost 8500 votes being cast this week.
On Monday, March 23, 947 people turned out to pre-poll at the Talbragar Street office.
Voters can pre-poll in Dubbo between 8am and 6pm this week, except on Thursday, March 26, when the doors of the pre-poll centre will stay open until 8pm.
Pre-polling in the Dubbo electorate is also taking place at St John's Anglican Church at Mudgee where the commission is projecting a total of 4300 votes will be counted.
Pre-polling at the Wellington Civic Hall and Function Centre will begin on Wednesday, March 25, with the commission expecting 1350 votes to be cast.
