We had 35 swimmers make it through to District level, with 18 of these being selected to compete at the Western Region carnival.
There were some outstanding individual performances with Isabella Sinclair (year 2) and Cooper Ferrari (year 5) breaking one and two individual event records respectively at the school carnival. Cooper also won the 11 years boys' champion at the District carnival.
Isabella Sinclair (year 2), Joe Sinclair (year 4) and Seamus Eddy (year 5) have been chosen to represent the Western Region at the NSW state championships later this year.
Our new kindergarten students have made a very smooth transition to school and are now right into the swing of things.
They have been having a great time participating in musical workshops conducted by Jason Webb every fortnight.
They are learning about what various musical instruments look and sound like, singing songs and playing percussion instruments.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Jason for showing everyone how much fun participating and listening to music can be.
There has been much excitement over the past couple of weeks following the installation of the new wildnet climbing structure which was purchased from funds donated by our P&C association and money raised from the 2014 walkathon.
All the students who have played on it so far are unanimous in their praise.
The school's annual Safety Day was held last week and students from kinder to year 6 enjoyed learning about staying safe in a variety of situations.
Some of the topics they covered included safe behaviour on buses and roads, stranger danger, cyber safety, how to keep their pets safe and what to do in case of fire.
Thank you to the members of the fire and police services, the Volunteer Rescue Association, Dubbo Buslines staff, Dubbo City Council's weir safety officer and rangers and other community members who shared their expertise and very important messages.
