Six arrests were made on Thursday morning similar crackdowns continuing from Esperance to Kununurra.

Police are claiming a major success in tracking down and arresting offenders trying to stay "off the radar".

Residents received an early wake-up call when police cars and vans rolled into caravan parks at Coogee Beach, Dawesville and Champion Lakes while mounted police trotted into Midland Caravan Park.

Up to 10 police were at each address and armed with a list of alleged offenders and persons of interest from recent and old investigations.

Operational commander Superintendent Brad Sorrell said the police presence focused on individuals who used caravan parks to avoid police.

"We know some criminals use caravan parks as safe havens to avoid detection," he said.

Superintendent Sorrell said the police objective was to identify and apprehend individuals suspected of a range of drug-related, property and firearms offences, and other anti-social activities.

Police arrested one person with six outstanding warrants at the Coogee Beach Caravan Park. Another individual was assisting Cockburn police with a hit and run investigation from 2007. Fremantle police made four arrests at a Hampton Road short-term address.

Superintendent Sorrell said police were also working with other agencies like Immigration and local councils.

"For instance, we went down to South Beach and issued infringements for illegal camping and motor vehicle infringements. We're also working with Immigration on another case," he said.

Aside from the arrests, police also issued six infringements, a summons for the seizure of a drug implement, and advanced another hit and run enquiry.

"And that was in just two caravan parks. I believe that is a major success," Superintendent Sorrell said.
