The girls finished with three wins and four losses for the day but were very happy with their overall performance at the high-level competition.
Coaches Karen Weekes and Caroline Dallinger had been preparing the side for the 14s representative season since November last year.
"We decided to start early for 2015 representative season and the girls started their skills and fitness training in November," Weekes said.
"We have a couple of new players into the side this year and we wanted to get the team bonded and ready as early as possible."
Dubbo 14s were looking forward to a challenging draw at Camden and they were pleased with the teams in their pool, which saw them pitted against a good mix of teams from country and metropolitan areas, including St George, Penrith, Ulladulla and Illawara.
"We had a very strong start against Ulladulla, defeating them 27-1," Weekes said.
"The girls came out firing and wonderful defence was quickly turned into attack and converted into points."
The girls were challenged by the St George, Camden, Illawarra and Penrith sides, but there were plenty of positives to take away from the carnival.
"The passing from end to end was outstanding," said Dallinger.
"The defence made every team work hard for their goals and our court balance and fitness were great."
One of Dubbo Netball's up-and-coming representative umpires Emily Harris also officiated at the carnival.
Harris opened her 2015 representative season umpiring in round one of the Central West Western New South Wales State League, and has been invited to umpire again in round two.
