Last season's grand finalists met in a winner-takes-all match and it was the defending premiers who kept their season alive after their fast bowlers led them to a 70-run victory.

Next door at No. 2 Oval RSL Colts showed their premiership credentials with a convincing win over Newtown in the top of the table clash.

The win for Colts sealed the minor premiership and saw the powerhouse club advance straight to the grand final, where they will meet the winner of next weekend's Newtown-Rugby match.

In the penultimate round's other game South Dubbo defeated CYMS, meaning the Cougars finish with the wooden spoon for the second consecutive season.
