The Electoral Commission NSW website reveals that nominations for the Legislative Assembly must be received by noon at the returning officer's office at 34 Talbragar Street, Dubbo.
It further reports that a ballot paper draw will be held at the same office at 2pm.
Currently campaigning in the seat are Deputy Premier, Leader of The Nationals and sitting Member for Dubbo Troy Grant, Labor's Stephen Lawrence, The Greens' Matt Parmeter, and Independents Colin Hamilton and Rod Pryor.
Dubbo is home to Mr Grant, Mr Lawrence and Mr Parmeter while Mr Hamilton hails from Narromine and Mr Pryor from Mudgee.
The March 12 deadline for nominations follows the issuing of writs by the governor on March 7, when authorised rolls closed.
Pre-polling will begin in the electorate on Monday, March 16, with queues likely at 34 Talbragar Street.
The electoral commission projects that 11,500 voters will cast their votes in the city of Dubbo before election day.
It estimates about one-third of the almost 53,000 voters in the electorate will pre-poll.
After the March 28 election the seat will officially run from east to west with Gulgong and Mudgee, Eumungerie, Trangie and Tomingley on its boundaries.
As a result of the redistribution of electoral boundaries in 2013, the electorate is forfeiting Parkes, Forbes, Canowindra and Peak Hill, but claiming Trangie, Mudgee, Gulgong and Wellington.
