The Nines concept has taken off in recent years, largely in part to the NRL's Auckland Nines initiative, and Group 11 looks set to benefit as well with under-18s and first grade both taking part on Sunday.
All three Dubbo clubs will be represented with Westside even nominating two teams for the competition.
On top of that there will also be two Woodbridge Cup teams, Peak Hill and Canowindra, competing in the 18s to test themselves against Group 11 opposition.
Nines is an action-packed fast-paced game with Sunday's matches played over 11 minute halves with no scrums or place kicks at goal.
Lots of tries is the hallmark of the game with few stoppages meaning crowds are always entertained.
Defending Group 11 premiers CYMS look set to be one of the teams to beat with the fast style of play and mobile forward pack seemingly perfectly suited to the game.
Westside will use it as the perfect place to give a number of new signings a run while two teams competing gives most players the chance to impress the coaches.
Macquarie will also be a new-look side this season and for incoming coach Guy Meredith it will be the first real time he's seen his players in action.
All teams will get the chance to play multiple games, making it an entertaining day for what is expected to be a healthy crowd.
CYMS open their day with a grand final rematch against the home side Parkes before Macquarie meet Westside 2.
A new and exciting Forbes side then meet Wellington in what should be an all-out attacking spectacle.
In the 18s, Westside begin the day with a match against Peak Hill, CYMS face Parkes and Macquarie meet Nyngan in their first match.
The Parkes Leagues Club has jumped onboard as major sponsor, ensuring there will be prizemoney for the winners of the inaugural pre-season tournament. Group 11 selectors will also be in attendance, using the day as an early opportunity to see what talent is available in the lead up to the Group 11 versus Group 10 representative clash. Gates open at 8am at Parkes with the first match kicking off an hour later. Matches will be played all day before the under-18s final at 3pm and the first grade decider at 3.30pm.
