8.30am: In the 24-hour period ending 7am on March 3, Dubbo City consumed 36 megalitres of drinking water, which is 45 per cent of the plant's daily treatment capacity.
This is equivalent to a residential water consumption of 697 litres per person.

► MUDGEE: There are fears that Glencore, owner of Ulan Mine, is set to permanently cut production from its Australian coal mines in a move that could jeopardise local jobs. After closing its mines for three weeks over the Christmas period, Glencore said last week it would reduce coal production in Australia by 15 million tonnes in 2015.
► BONNY HILLS: Police will continue to scour thick bushland in relation to the disappearance of three-year-old William Tyrrell after receiving a “breakthrough” tip-off in the past fortnight.
Officers discovered a set a small set of bones at the search site late on Monday afternoon but police said they were confident the remains belonged to an animal.
The search is expected to last several days while up to 30 officers comb through thick overgrowth and muddy tracks between Bonny Hills and Lake Cathie on the state’s mid north coast.
► ORANGE: Joshua Minnett was refused bail in Orange Local Court on Monday after allegedly threatening to kill an Orange woman he met on the internet dating site Plenty of Fish and posting naked photographs of her on a buy, swap and sell site. Police prosecutor Sergeant Phil Donato opposed bail, saying Minnett posed a continuing threat to the victim, after he broke into her house on the weekend and chased her outside when she arrived home.
► BATHURST: Bathurst's 86-year-old ambulance station may not make it to a 90th birthday after the State Government yesterday announced plans for a major redevelopment. A re-elected Baird Government would invest $6.6 million to fund a scoping study to determine the best site for the region’s ambulance station and to build the station
7.45am: Great work by all the volunteers over the weekend helping with Clean Up Australia Day.
Not so great to see this on the Dubbo Sustainable City Facebook page that same day - put you rubbish in the bin!
Back to Clean Up Australia Day and in 2015 the 25th year was bigger and better right across the country.
Over 526,268 volunteers donned their gloves and picked up a bag to remove rubbish from around 6165 sites across the nation.
Since the event started 25 years ago Australians have donated more than 28.75 million hours towards caring for the environment through Clean Up Australia Day, removing an estimated 302,213 tonnes of rubbish from more than 151,919 across the country.
7.30am: Taking a look at your local news this morning.
► A university education could be financially out of reach for many Dubbo children born in 2015 and is becoming more of a struggle for students currently enrolled. According to figures the Australian Scholarships Group (ASG) Planning for University Index officially released on Tuesday a child born in 2015 could pay $500,000 for their total university education regardless of fee deregulation.
► A group of residents in Dubbo's Yarrawonga Estate say the suburb is "angry" about plans to build a $12 million seniors housing development with 84 dwellings nearby. A six-member committee has formed and is rallying neighbours to lodge submissions against the proposed development for 5L Wellington Road at Dubbo.
► The Delroy Fire Station held a charity barefoot bowls afternoon and auction at Club Dubbo on Saturday in order to help a retained fire fighter and his family in their time of need. More than $10,000 was raised for the Jackson family who suffered a blow in December when Matthew and his wife were seriously injured after a scooter they were riding was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident.
► In perfect weather the Wellington Vintage Fair and Swap Meet drew in the largest crowd for many years. Treasurer of the committee Jeune Gersbach said as the event grew to incorporate more unusual attractions people were responding, travelling from far and wide to see the cars, machinery, stamp collections, dog jump, or to hunt down an unusual bargain.

7.05am: In breaking news this morning police have charged Dubbo's alleged tyre slasher.
Following a lengthy investigation into multiple tyre slashings in the Dubbo area police charged the man yesterday.
Strike Force Alhambra, comprising detectives from Orana Local Area Command, was established to investigate a string of tyre slashings, up to 50 reported victims, mainly in the south Dubbo area.
Officers yesterday arrested a 27-year-old local man. He was taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with destroy or damage property (x15).
He was given conditional bail and will appear in Dubbo Local Court on April 15, 2015.
Police expect to lay further charges at court.
