Jason Owen is bracing himself for one of the biggest years of his career to date, with a six-month tour kicking off next week.
After the release of his second single Tears on Fire and a gig at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Owen will take to the stage on Saturday, March 7, at the Dubbo RSL Club Resort, just one day after the launch of his album Friday Night.
Since his success on the 2012 X-Factor television series, Owen said his career had been "a dream come true".
Owen said it had been a lot of hard work preparing the album launch and tour.
"We've just been trying to get it out there as much as possible," he said.
Describing his new album Friday Night as "bad boy 1960s rock 'n roll", Owen said he was looking forward to showing the audience his new style.
With 11 copies and two originals ready to go, Owen said his work certainly targeted a unique market.
"I'm also going to be performing songs from my first album Life is a Highway," he said.
"There's something for everyone."
Despite touring nationally, Jason said he always looked forward to his return to the central west.
"You can travel all over but at the end of the day it just feels nice to be at home," he said.
"It's always great to see so many warm faces in the crowd out there."
Jason said a main highlight for him while touring was getting out and putting names to the faces in the crowd.
"I love meeting people whenever I can," he said.
