The man is charged with a total of 10 offences allegedly taking place between 2004 and 2006.
One of those, an intimidation charge, relates to an allegation he said if his daughter told anyone about the assaults, he would kill her mother.
The man cannot be named for legal reasons.
The seven aggravated indecent assaults, one aggravated sexual assault and two intimidation offences are alleged to have occurred at Dubbo.
The man no longer lives at Dubbo and was charged on Friday.
A bail application was made on his behalf on Monday as he faced the court via audio-visual link from his place of remand.
The defence submitted detention was not justified and cited his employment history, his stable accommodation and his family situation. The man had lived in his current district for four years and had a partner, with whom he had a young family, the solicitor said.
The charges related to a child from a previous relationship, she said.
He had strong community ties to the area in which he now lived, and was employed, the court heard.
The solicitor said the man was the only adult to hold a driver's licence in his family.
The defence said although they were serious charges, a reference to a phone call and a statement from the complainant in documents tendered to the court were somewhat equivocal.
The Crown opposed bail, saying there was a strong prosecution case.
Magistrate Andrew Eckhold, noting new bail laws that came into effect earlier this year, said there had not been cause shown why detention was not justified.
The man was refused bail to reappear in court on April 22.
Court documents show the aggravated sexual assault charge allegedly happened in the shower.
Some of the charges of indecent assault are alleged to have happened during a hide and seek game that occurred on average twice per week during a two-year period, about 220 times, the documents show.
In 2012 the daughter told her maternal grandmother of some of the alleged incidents, the documents show.
When questioned by police, the man alleged his daughter had made up the claims due to a long-running hatred between him and his former mother-in-law, the documents show.
