Global pressure on Indonesia to halt the execution of prisoners by firing squad is building as France and Nigeria join Australia in calling for clemency for nationals on death row.

The family of a Nigerian man set to be executed at the same time as Australians Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran has protested at the Indonesian embassy in Lagos.
Raheem Agbaje Salami is one of an estimated 21 Nigerians on death row in Indonesia for drug-related offences, Nigerian media reports.
The French government also summoned Indonesia's ambassador in Paris last week to express concern over the fate of Serge Atlaoui, a French national convicted of operating an ecstasy factory in Jakarta.
It follows the decision by Brazil and the Netherlands to recall their ambassadors from Jakarta last month after the execution of citizens from each country.
French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said France opposed the death penalty "in all places and in all circumstances", and while respecting Indonesia's sovereignty, hoped a last-ditch court appeal by Mr Atlaoui would be given a fair hearing.
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has appealed to Indonesia not to put prisoners to death.
The Philippine government also made an official plea last month for Indonesia to review the case of convicted Filipino drug courier Mary Jane Fiesta Veloso, citing new evidence.
Indonesia's diplomatic spat with Brazil deepened at the weekend after Jakarta complained of "unfriendly action" after Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff delayed formal recognition of the new ambassador to the South American nation.
Another Brazilian, Rodrigo Gularte, is set to be shot dead at the same time as the Bali Nine pair, despite lawyers saying Gularte is a paranoid schizophrenic.
Nigeria, which imposes the death penalty, expressed "huge disappointment" after a Nigerian was executed in Indonesia last month amid confusion over whether one or two men from the African country had been shot.
Protesters in Lagos complained the government in Abuja had not been vocal enough with Indonesia.
"Why can't they temper justice with mercy? After serving the sentence for their offence for some years, why can't they bring them back to Nigeria to complete their prison terms," Athan Ezenwa Okedu, chairman of the local Asian business lobby, was reported to have said.
Four Indonesians and Martin Anderson from Ghana are also among the group of 11 scheduled to be executed this month, including Chan and Sukumaran.
