DUBBO bowler Nathan Crooks had cause to celebrate last week when he bowled his third career 300 game during league competition at the Dubbo Tenpin Bowl.
Crooks had the pins flying during the Monday night doubles, posting 12 strikes in a row in game two for his perfect 300 game and made it 18 strikes in a row by the sixth frame of the third game.
Crooks opened his three-game series with a 224 game that contained seven strikes before unleashing on the pins in his second game reeling off one strike after the other to post his 300 game and then rounded the night off with another high game of 265 which contained 10 strikes.
Crooks was very excited about the achievement as it fell on the same day as friend and bowling idol Jason Belmonte from Orange clinched a history-making third USBC Masters Title in Wisconsin.
"Nathan will always remember this 300 game falling on the same day as "Belmo" won his third US Masters title," Dubbo Tenpin Bowl manager Charles Andreas said.
Crooks' efforts not only gave him his third perfect game they also helped him bowl a career-best series of 789, eclipsing his previous best of 781.
Wife Courtney was there to witness Crooks' effort and when questioned about his perfect game she said he had a few strikes go his way after missing his consistent pocket shot but everyone needs a little luck when it comes to bowling a perfect game.
Andreas said Crooks is a dedicated league, representative and practice bowler and competes in two leagues a week as well as representing Dubbo in the Country Challenge series that bowls in six different centres including Bathurst, Orange, Wagga, Canberra, Griffith and Dubbo.
He also bowls for Dubbo Men's One Team in the Inter-Centre Tenpin Challenge Series between Orange and Dubbo throughout the year.
