The Crackerjacks sit equal top with Rugby but do have a game in hand and a win tonight will all but confirm a spot in the top three and a place in the finals.
Macquarie's Twenty20 side have shown in recent times they are one of the most adept sides at the short form of the game after finishing as runners-up last season and producing wins over Rugby and CYMS this time around.
Only a downpour of rain when the Crackerjacks were due to play the Cricketers Arms Journeymen stopped last season's runner's up from laying claim to a 100 per cent winning record.
Tonight's opponents, Newtown, currently sit in third but will be aiming for a win to enter the top two and keep the chasing Journeymen and Castlereagh Hornets at bay.
The Tigers have defeated both the Hornets and the Journeymen this season but a loss to Rugby has them trailing the top two.
The Tigers will have to overcome the Crackerjacks all-round depth if they are to get a victory tonight.
Jason Green, Ed Haylock, Keiran Brien and Justin Gavin are all capable of making big Megahit scores while the likes of Angus Cusack, Shane Dupille, Joe Haylock and Gavin give the Crackerjacks plenty of variety in their bowling attack.
For the Tigers, much of their hopes come down Skinner brothers Mat and Steve.
Both have been standout players in this season's competition, providing plenty of runs at the top of the order and both taking wickets without conceding many runs.
Dan Holland, Wayne Dunlop, Tetaan Henning and Dan French will play the supporting roles and feed off whatever start the Skinners can provide.
The results have been shared in the two times the sides have met in the Whitney Cup, with Newtown defeating the Blues shortly before Christmas before Keiran Brien's men got revenge just two rounds ago.
Tonight's match begins at 6.15pm.
