Mr Grant reacted angrily to suggestions the state government would look to avoid helping Playmates secure a new location, levelled at him by Playmates management committee chairman Jim Jane and Labor candidate Stephen Lawrence.
The deputy premier said he had given a commitment to help Playmates and he would see it through, giving his word Playmates would be in a new centre before December 2016, when their current lease ran out.
"I am sick and tired of repeating myself. I have given my commitment to help and it is a sound and proper commitment," Mr Grant said.
"We have put in place a process and we now have designs and scoping plans completed. The next step is to identify a suitable block of land and once that has been done, we will make announcements on financial support.
"I am not going to make any rushed announcements for the sake of a headline like some other people and I am making sure the job is done properly."
Last week Mr Grant and Health Minister Jillian Skinner confirmed Playmates would have to move from its current location once its lease expires.
The centre did not fit into plans for the $150 million stages three and four redevelopment of the hospital.
After the announcement, Mr Jane said he disputed Mr Grant's claim everyone involved with Playmates was 'happy as Larry'.
Mr Jane said he was concerned no funding had been announced for Playmates and he feared for the organisation's future.
"I have been dealing with the working party and that is who I was referring to being happy," Mr Grant said.
"Mr Jane isn't part of that party and isn't fully up to speed with what is going on.," Mr Grant said.
"I gave my word that I would help Playmates but if Playmates aren't satisfied with my commitment and sincerity, then they can go and find someone else to help them.
"People are playing political games rather than focusing on getting a result."
