The Blues have firmly entrenched themselves in the Whitney Cup top three after successive wins over CYMS, South Dubbo and Newtown and come into today's one-day match with great confidence.
Things couldn't be much different for their opponents, defending premiers Rugby, who find themselves in a slump.
The men in sky blue haven't won a match since November 22, currently sit in fourth spot and are now well aware both CYMS and Souths are snapping at their heels.
With the bottom two sides going up against each other today Rugby know a loss for them means they will drop back a further spot on the ladder.
The defending champs will be hopeful of Jordan Moran returning from injury to bolster a batting line-up which has not passed 150 in the two games following the Christmas and New Year's break.
Nathan Munro made a fighting 47 for Rugby last week and will be looking to lead the way again while the likes of Mitch Bower, Aidan Bennewith and Harry Kempston are still striving for consistency.
The Blues batting this season has been very reliant on Ed Haylock absorbing pressure at the top of the order, allowing the likes of Jason Green, Keiran Brien and Justin Gavin to flourish.
Haylock's 85 in last week's run chase was the foundation of the victory and he will again look to lead the way.
With the ball the Blues will rely on their depth with a host of players capable of getting through overs.
Angus Cusack has announced himself as a Whitney Cup opening bowler of quality this season while Joe Haylock, Nathan Reichelt (pending injury) and Shane Dupille can all expect to get through their 10 overs each.
Rugby's Ben Taylor will lead his side's bowling attack and will look to Blake Watmore, Jacob Bruce and Zac Murphy for support.
