Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre (DRTCC) manager Linda Christof said 253 subscriptions to the 2015 Theatre Season had been sold this year, compared to 176 in 2014.
Subscribers are those who booked and paid for a minimum of five shows from the season brochure during the subscription period from November 16 to January 16.
"It's a credit to the patrons in the region that they've really embraced the theatre. They're using it as a social outing, having dinner and going to a show," Ms Christof said.
She said each year the DRTCC tied to beat the number of subscriptions received in the previous 12 months, but staff were shocked when the number surpassed 200 and again after they reached 250.
"I think if you have a glimpse at our season program you can see we have 29 amazing shows," she said.
Along with the traditional plays and performances, Ms Christof said this year's season featured a variety of shows including contemporary dance, comedy and things that hadn't been in Dubbo before such as burlesque.
She said there had been an influx in 14 to 18-year-old subscribers who were mostly dance students from across the region who wanted not only to see the performances, but also to participate in the touring companies' workshops.
