DUBBO captain Tim Cox has again hailed the depth of talent in his side after yesterday's annihilation of the Blue Mountains in the Western Premeir League (WPL) semi-final.
The local side showcased the kind of form which led them to the semi-finals of the SCG Country Cup last month as the Blue Mountains were dismissed for just 42.
Dubbo had earlier made 201 on a lush outfield at Wellington's Pioneer Park which made scoring difficult.
"The depth of talent we've got certainly helps," Cox said.
"To come from about 7-120 and make over 200 was really pleasing.
"And with the ball we've got a number of guys who can hit the seam on a good length, it's been a strength for us all year."
After winning the toss and batting it wasn't the ideal start for Dubbo as they struggled with the slow outfield.
Mitch Bower remained at the top but Paul Hulthen, Asher Robins and Greg Buckley all departed early.
"We knew that 150-180 would be a good score, the top few blokes just went a bit too hard for the conditions and we were losing wickets in clumps," Cox said.
"But Mitch put the bad ball away and got us off to a good start and Chris Morton made 28 and batted really well."
Dubbo slumped to 7-117 but Mat Skinner then came in and ensured the run rate kept ticking as he worked hard early then lifted late on.
He brought up his half century shortly before Dubbo were bowled out in the 48th over for 201.
"Mat was good, especially at the end," Cox said.
"He worked the ball around nicely then let loose in the last five or six overs and that was always the plan.
"He took about 20 off one over and that really helped us get up past 200, which we were very confident with."
Jarrad Hastings was the best of the Blue Mountains bowlers as he took 4-38 from his 10 overs.
The opening ball partnership of Cox and Tim Berry then struck immediately, reducing Blue Mountains to 3-12 and the Cattle Dogs never recovered from there as all Dubbo bowlers kept the pressure on.
Ben Strachan worked his way through the middle and lower order to take 4-11 while Ben Taylor also starred, bagging 3-11 in the rout.
With only one game standing in Dubbo's way of back-to-back WPL titles, Cox said the unity in his side and attitude of his players continue to impress.
"The commitment is outstanding, it's the best it's been since I've been involved," the skipper said.
"Everyone's available and guys want to get out there on a Sunday and play, everyone is keen and wants us to do well and wants to make finals."
The final of the WPL will be against Parkes at Dubbo on February 1.
