Raced by a syndicate that includes Pay, Jason Linnane and Les Thomas, Remember Kaiser backed up from a placing at Dubbo on Boxing Night and justified the faith of punters who sent him out as a $2.50 favourite.
With Madison Reynolds in the sulky, the Major In Art (US) x Lombo Secrets colt was able to find the front in the early stages of the event and had enough in hand to beat Glowing Courage ($12.50), which was driven by Reynolds' younger brother Jordan.
The Golden Guitar carnival will be held on January 14, 18 and 23 with Remember Kaiser a chance to line up in races at all three meetings.
Meanwhile Major Deed might have earned himself a crack at the $8000 Pub Group Gold Nugget after his impressive front-running win on Sunday.
The five-year-old gelding led all the way to win the Country Music Festival Racing January 14, 18 & 23 Pace (1609m) by 1.25m from Kates Attitude in an effort that was just outside the Tamworth track record.
The son of Art Major clocked 1min 57.4secs for the flying mile, just shy of Youranut's 1min 57.30secs set in December 2012.
Cindy Rippon drove the gelding for her husband and trainer Peter Rippon, the Bendemeer couple enjoying a breakthrough win with Major Deed, a horse they were told was not a leader.
Course interviewer Mark Lowe asked Cindy Rippon if she knew she was so close to the track record.
"No, I didn't think we were going that quick," Cindy Rippon admitted.
"I knew we were running along because I had let him run along but I was surprised at the time but not surprised by him. He's got some ability."
