Dubbo City Council manager horticulture services Ian McAlister said the new location of the equipment took advantage of the shade from the trees in the park, which cut down on the management and replacement of shade cloths.
The new location is also more visible for the nearby residents, allowing more surveillance of the playground.
The community has already shown great support for the equipment.
At the unveiling of the equipment at the park a Dubbo resident pulled over to thank Mr McAlister and council for the new equipment.
The lady said it had been great to see the number of children playing on the first day it opened.
Mr McAlister said the old park was established in 1987 and would be taken down now the new equipment was established.
The Manera Heights upgrade is part of a bigger initiative that has already led to equipment at Michael Duffy Park, Powter Park and Delroy Parklands (North) being replaced or installed in the past year.
Mr McAlister said another eight parks would be upgraded across the next 10 years.
He said the parks would all contain different elements to provide different experiences while encouraging active play and sharing. Seating, bins and the final touches will all be installed in the coming weeks.
